Block Library ![]()
The Block Library makes it easy to add blocks to a quilt. You can also use the Block Library to place blocks on the Design Wall.
To open the Block Library, click on the Block Library Button in the Toolbar.
To Open a Block and Place it on the Design Wall
1. Click on the Block Library button. Perfect Quilt will open the Block Library.
1. To find a block, you can click on the a folder. The blocks are arranged into folders. For example, the Pieced Basket Blocks are in the Pieced Basket Folder. To open the folder, double click on it. You will now see the blocks in the folder.
1. You can also find folders by clicking on the list above the folder thumbnails. Find the folder you want in the list and click on it to open the folder and see the blocks.
1. To open a block, click on it once and then click on the open button. You can also open a block by double clicking on the thumbnail.
TIP: Opening Multiple Blocks
Each time you open a block, you will also open a separate window, each with it's own block. For example, if you open five blocks, you will open five windows. You can open multiple blocks into the same window. To do this, open the File Menu and select Preferences. Click on the Block Open Tab. Click off the checkmark next to "Open File in New Doc" Now you can open two or more blocks into the same window.
Add Blocks to a Quilt
1. You can use the block Library to add blocks to a quilt, here's how:
1. Create a quilt with the Quilt Wizard. You can use the Block Library to add blocks to a blank quilt or change blocks that are already in a quilt.
1. Open the Block Library button and find your block.
1. Click on the block and then click on the quilt where you want the block to go. Perfect Quilt will place the block on the quilt. Repeat as needed.
TIP: If the Quilt Wizard is set to create Sampler Quilts, Perfect Quilt will place only one copy of the block in the quilt. If the setting is Single Block, Perfect Quilt will repeat the same block throughout the quilt. See Block Settings for more information.
