How to Create Your Own Pieced Border Design

You can create your own Pieced Border Designs and add them to your personal library. Here's how:

1. Open the File Menu and click on New. Then click on Border.

1. Enter the width and length of the border design and click the OK button. Perfect Quilt will squeeze or expand the border when it's placed in a quilt, so the length and width are not critcal measurements.

1. Perfect Quilt will place the border design outline on the Design Wall. The border outline will be red. You can draw patches only with the border design.

1. Draw the patches to make the design and click on the File Menu and select Save. Name and save the file. The pieced border design will automatically save into your personal pieced border library button.

1. To use the pieced border design, click on the Border Library Tool and then click on My library. You will see your border design.

Tips for Creating Pieced Border Designs

• The pieced border design has three parts, the vertical bar, corner and horizontal bar. The vertical and horizontal bars will form a repeating design when the placed in a quilt. The corner will go into the corner of the quilt.

• You can only place patches inside the Pieced Border outline. Any patches outside the outline will not be saved as the border design. Also, you must draw patches to fill in all the spaces within the pieced border outline.
