How to Split Patches

The Split feature will take a patch and break it down into a series of lines or curves. Use this feature to add new lines or curves to appliqué patches or other types of patches. Split is the opposite of Join.

1. Select the patch that you want to split.

1. Click on the Effects Menu and then click on Split. Perfect Quilt will break apart the patch into a series of lines or curves. (If the patch has curves.)

1. You can now edit the lines by moving them. You can also add curves. When you are done, select all the lines/curves and Join them back together by clicking on the Effects Menu and then click on Join.
