Perfect Quilt File Types
Just as a quilt has different parts, Perfect Quilt has different types of files based on parts of a quilt. Each file type has it's own characteristics. The file's extension will tell you which file is which. For example, a block file has the extension .blk.
• Quilt: The quilt file is for finished quilts. The extension is .qlt.
• Block: This file type is for quilt blocks. The block file is the type you will use most often next to a quilt. The file has the extension .blk.
• Border: This is for pieced or appliqué quilt borders. The file extension is .bor.
• Sash: This is for pieced or appliqué quilt sashes. The file extension is .sas.
• Color Palette: You can create a new color palette here. The file extension is .pal.
• Fabric Palette: You can create new fabric palettes here. The file extension is .fpl.
• File Packet: A packet is a file that you can e-mail. A packet contains a quilt or block and all the fabric files needed to color the block or quilt. A packet file is compressed for faster transmission. The file extension is .arq
