More Things to know to use Perfect Quilt
What are Those Three Buttons in the Upper Right Corner?
These are the Minimize, Maximize and Close Buttons. Here’s what they do.
The Minimize Button will make a window as small as it can be. When a window in minimized,
you only see the name of the window. You will want to minimize a window to make more room
for other Windows.
The Maximize Button makes a window as large as it can be. For example, if you want to make
Perfect Quilt will your entire computer screen, click on the Maximize button. You can also click
on the Maximize button to make a minimized window “come back to life”.
The Close Button will close a window. You can quit Perfect Quilt by clicking on the Close
Button. Perfect Quilt will ask if you want to save your work before it quits.
What is the Band of Colors at the Bottom of the Screen?
This is the Color Bar and it has solid colors for you to color blocks with. To find out more about
colors and how to use them, please go to Lesson 5.

When I click on the Menus, some Items are Gray, Why?
When a menu item is gray, it means that you can’t use it. This prevents you from accidentally
clicking on something that won’t work.
For example, if you don’t have any patches, blocks or quilts on the screen, the word Print is
grayed out in the File Menu. Since there is nothing to print, Perfect Quilt won’t allow you to
print.
Sometimes tools are grayed out. For example, when you create a quilt, you can’t use the drawing
tools, so Perfect Quilt grays them out to prevent you from accidentally clicking on them.
