Regular Polygon Tool

Use the Regular Polygon Tool to draw Regular Polygons such as hexagons and octagons. In a regular polygon all sides are equal length.

To Draw a Regular Polygon

1. Click the mouse on the Regular Polygon tool to select it.

1. The Polygon settings box opens at the bottom of the Toolbar.

1. Choose the number of sides for your polygon. For a hexagon, select 6.

1. Select the drawing method. (see below)

1. Place the mouse on the drawing grid. The cursor becomes a cross.

1. Push the left mouse button down and drag the mouse to draw the regular polygon. You can move the mouse in a circle to rotate the polygon.

1. Release the mouse to finish. Perfect Quilt will fill the regular polygon with the currently selected fabric or color.

Hint: To line up the Regular Polygon exactly on the grid, click on the Snap to Grid Tool.

Hint: You can select up to 360 sides for your polygon. 360 sides is equal to a circle.

Regular Polygon Drawing Options

You can choose three different ways to draw your polygon:

• Center Out: Start the mouse at the center of the polygon and drag it out from the center.

• One Side: Start the mouse at one corner of the polygon and drag the mouse along one side of the polygon.

• Opposite Side: Start the mouse at one corner of the polygon and drag the mouse to the opposite side.
