You can e-mail your friends Perfect Quilt folders by saving the file as a packet file. A packet file is a special Perfect Quilt file that compresses the block or quilt and fabrics into one file that you can e-mail. The person receiving the file must have Perfect Quilt to open and view the file.
1. Create the block or quilt you want to send.
1. Click on the File Menu and then click on Create Packet.
1. The Save Packet File box opens. Name the file and click the Save Button to save it. The file extension for a packet file is .arq.
1. To e-mail the file, open your e-mail software and send a message. Send the packet file as an attachment. Follow the directions for your e-mail software to send attachments.
To Receive and Open a Packet File
When you receive a packet file, you may be able to look at the file right away by double clicking on the file name within your E-mail software. If you cannot open the packet in your e-mail program, start Perfect Quilt and click on the File Menu and then click on Open.
Next, locate your packet file. (It will probably be in an attachments file in your e-mail's program folder.) Click on the packet file and then click on the Open Button to view the quilt or block your friend has sent you.
