Save Files

Use the Save Files command to Save blocks, quilts, etc.

To Save a File for the First Time

When you save a file for the first time, you will name the file. Perfect Quilt will automatically save the file into "My Library."

1. Click on the Save Icon in the Ribbon Bar, or select Save from the File Menu.

1. Perfect Quilt will open the Save File box.

1. Next to file name at the bottom of the box, type in the file name you want.

1. Click the Save Button and the file will be saved.

To Save the File Again

Once your file is saved (and named) you can save it again by selecting Save from the File Menu or pressing the "CTRL" and "S" keys. Perfect Quilt will save the file without asking you to rename it. If you want to make a copy of the file with a different name, use the Save-As command.

To save Changes to Perfect Quilt Library Blocks

If you want to make a permanent change to a Perfect Quilt Library block, you will need to turn off the default preference to always save into My Library. Click on the File Menu and then click on Preferences. Click on the Block Open Tab and click off the "Always Save to my Documents" checkbox. Click the Save and then OK Buttons. Now, you can make changes to Perfect Quilt Library blocks and other files.
