Select Tool

Use the Select Tool to select patches so that you can to move, rotate them etc.

To Select a Single Patch

1. Click the mouse button on the Select Tool. The cursor becomes a white arrow.

1. Click the mouse on the patch you want to select.

1. Perfect Quilt draws a select box around the patch.

Patch with Select Box

Perfect Quilt draws a select box around any selected patch. The select box has 8 handles which are the black squares. You can stretch or rotate a patch by placing the mouse on any points. You can use the select box to move, stretch or rotate the patch.

To Select Multiple Patches

1. Click the mouse button on the select tool. The cursor becomes a white arrow.

1. Press and hold the Shift key on the keyboard.

1. Click the mouse on the patches you want to select.

1. Perfect Quilt draws a select box around all the patches.

1. Release the Shift key.

Marquis Select Multiple Patches

You can select multiple patches by drawing a select box around the patches (marquis select) To marquis select, select the select tool and drag the mouse around the patches. Release the mouse and Perfect Quilt will draw a select box around the patches.

TIP: The Status Bar at the top of the screen tells you how many patches you have selected.

Unselect Patches

To "unselect" patch, simply click the mouse anywhere on the drawing grid. The select box will disappear.
