Working With Patches

When you have finished drawing a patch, you can select the patch so that you can move, flip, rotate or duplicate the patch. Here's how:

Select Patch

Click on the Select Tool and then click on the patch. Perfect Quilt will draw a select box around the patch to tell you it's selected. The select box has dashed lines and squares at each corner and side. Find out more about selecting patches.

Move Patch

Select the patch with the Select Tool. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the patch where you want it to go. Lift up the mouse button. Tip: Click on the Snap to Grid tool to make the patch "snap" to the grid lines.

Flip Patch

Select the patch with the Select Tool. Click on either the Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical Tool to flip the patch.

Rotate Patch

Select the patch with the Select Tool. Click on either the Rotate Left or Right Tool. Choose the angle you want to rotate from the menu under the Toolbar. Click on the patch to make it rotate.

Duplicate Patch

Select the patch with the Select Tool. Click on the Edit Menu and click on Duplicate. Or, press the CTRL + D keys. Perfect Quilt will place a duplicate patch to the lower right of the original patch and select the duplicate.
